Memphis, TN: January 2, 2008
What happens when critters stop being animals and start being human? Hilarity ensues, of course! Follow the lives of Muley the Mule and his pals, Buford the Dog, Roy Duck, and Missy Mule (no relation) in Muley’s Comix & Stories as they boycott, raise wild animals, fight back at bullies, and cause general chaos for their human friend, Kevin.
Goofy and semi-autobiographical, fans of “Peanuts” and “Muppets” will definitely enjoy Muley’s Comix & Stories. This is a book of wonderfully illustrated comic strip compilations and stories the whole family can enjoy. Muley’s Comix & Stories is written and illustrated by Kevin L. Williams.
Muley’s Comix & Stories is 36 pages with full-color cover and interior. Retail price is $7.70. Muley’s Comix & Stories will be available for purchase at
www.muleythemule.com on Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
The concept for Muley the Mule began in 1980, and found his home in local, school, and college newspapers, association journals and annuals, compilation publications, and internet publication since. Puppet versions of the characters from Muley Comix have appeared on radio, local and national television, the internet, and on stage. After a break from publication to study his own work alongside of others in the industry that he liked or disliked, a new approach has been taken to create the new Muley’s Comix and Stories.
During that break, a focus was put on the puppetry of the characters performing in film and live action, hosting and co-hosting events such as the Superman Celebration’s Kids’ Costume Contest in Metropolis, IL. His job as editor for his friends’ publications was another focus, moreover the 12 year relationship with MAW Productions which has already put out five other books, all in the
Jetta: Tales of the Toshigawa series: “
Last Chances,” “
Defiance,” “
Rain,” “
Crucible,” “
Revelations,” and most recently “
Turra: Gun Angel.” Other titles he has edited include the Mid-South Cartoonists Association’s compilation books “It Came From Beneath the Drawing Board” and “Overdrawn and Underwritten.” More information can be found at
